Four suspects nabbed after business robbery

"With the help of Johannesburg Metro Police Department and various other security firms, a further three suspects were traced and arrested."

Four suspects were arrested on charges of a robbery at a local business on the Ontdekkers service road.

“Members from the West Rand Public Order Policing were doing regular patrols of the area and were alerted by a member of the public who had seen the suspects entering the store,” explained Captain Juanita Yorke.

“The police members noticed a vehicle at the front of the store inside the yard where the suspects were busy loading the goods. The suspects started to run in different directions and the members saw that one of them was running down the road with a firearm and gave chase.”

The suspect allegedly opened fire on the police when they stopped their vehicle, and returned fire – managing to superficially wound him and then effect his arrest.

“He was later transported under police guard to the hospital for further medical treatment. With the help of Johannesburg Metro Police Department and various other security firms, a further three suspects were traced and arrested,” Yorke added.
