City Power Roodepoort SDC remains under pressure

City Power Spokesperson Isaac Mangena said that teams have been beefed up in the pressure areas, who will work around the clock to ensure that these backlogs are resolved.

City Power Relationship Management Department has confirmed that their Roodepoort Service Delivery Centre (SDC) remains under pressure sitting with close to 521 outage calls by 06:00 on Friday, February 10.

According to the power utility rain is also delaying some of the repairs and restorations.

The sore point areas are:

• Tshepisong SWS: After a 100 % power supply restoration on Thursday, February 9, a pole transformer has blown on Line B (teams will be investigating this new problem and will advise on the way forward for repairs.

• Christian De Wet Substation (Panorama 1, Cornelius 1 and Jim Fouche Road): The distributor

tripped at 1am on Friday, February 10 affecting parts of Weltevreden Park, currently, 94 % power supply has been restored (teams were dispatched to the site Friday morning.

• Reefhaven Substation: Power was not restored post load-shedding, affected areas include

Princess, Lindhaven, Manufacta and Reefhaven.

“ETR will be communicated to individual customers in their areas, we will continue to update the affected customers on the progress on councillors’ WhatsApp groups as well as on social media @CityPowerJhb.

“For isolated individual calls and any other electricity-related queries, members of the community are advised to log calls on citypower.mobi.

“We apologise for the inconvenience caused by these outages, especially during this inclement weather and we appeal for patience and understanding as we work on these backlogs,” said Mangena.
