Rookie USA SA donates R50k to baby shelter!
Eleanor Dustan, who has always been interested in children, founded the Lighthouse Baby Shelter in 2008.
On Saturday, January 21, Rookie USA SA held its annual handover celebration with local charity Lighthouse Baby Shelter in the spirit of giving back.
Rookie USA SA has always been committed to being more than just a fashion brand; through collaboration with local South African influencer kids and their parents, the brand was able to raise R50 000 to support the shelter in whatever way they may require.
Eleanor Dustan, who has always been interested in children, founded the Lighthouse Baby Shelter in 2008. The shelter provides care for newborns and children who have been neglected or abused by their previous families.
“It was my calling to take in abandoned babies and children and create a place they can call home, where they can grow, learn and have a place to come back to when needed. The lighthouse shelter is not an institution; it is a home with a mother who disciplines, teaches responsibility, loves, and strives to help children grow into responsible adults,” Eleanor said.

Rookie USA SA finds the experience of being able to give back to the community heartwarming, as they strive to make a difference in the lives of South African children and organisations.
