Ogle Foundation ends year on a high note

During their visit the foundation spoke to a total of 127 learners from Grade 4 up until Grade 12.

According to Bathabile Dlamini, South Africa’s Minister for Women, approximately 7 million South African girls do not have access, or cannot afford to buy sanitary products.

Although these alarming statistics are upsetting, they are a reality of period poverty in the country. In hopes of curbing these statistics, the Ogle Foundation has dedicated itself to providing sanitary towels to young girls within the community.

The Ogle Foundation is a Roodepoort-based non-profit company (NPC) run by many dedicated volunteers who aim to provide support, help and development opportunities to less fortunate members of the community.

On Wednesday, November 30 the foundation paid a special visit to Royal College Florida as part of their well-known sanitary towel campaign.

“This marks our last school visit for 2022. We were very excited to be welcomed by the school and its female learners. It’s always such a pleasure to see their beautiful faces and tell them more about menstruation,” NPC founder Patty Ogle said.

During their visit the foundation spoke to a total of 127 learners from Grade 4 up until Grade 12. Each girl also received a generous donation of sanitary towels to see them through their next cycle.

However, as an NPC the foundation is always in need of assistance from the community. So, if you would like to help Ogle help others or if you would like to find out more, feel free to contact her on 076 313 2247.
