Crawfordians express themselves through art

"The learners worked extremely hard throughout the year to complete numerous different artworks."

Crawford International Ruimsig learners’ art exhibition of November 24 was extremely successful. They exhibited artworks from grade 6 to grade 12 learners.

There were most definitely something for everyone’s taste as the school displayed different styles from mixed media and photorealism works to more intricate themes like the Grade 12’s intertwined and interwoven theme.

“The learners worked extremely hard throughout the year to complete numerous different artworks. It is such a privilege to be able to host such an beautiful event where we can see how everything came together,” explained Lani Pieterse.

One of Crawford’s Grade 12 learners, Emma Jacobs addressed the audience with a special and personal speech about how art influenced her life.

Bongiwe, the VEGA representative who joined them for the evening judged the artworks and awarded three of the Grade 12 learners with prizes. Khanyisile Mahobe obtained the third place and received a prize. The first place was shared between Josh Brussouw and Emma Jacobs.

“We are extremely proud of all our visual art learners and we are already looking forward to see what next year holds!”
