Avid golfers support Ebenezer

Sometimes, those who help others often need a helping hand themselves. That’s why the community was eager to support Ebenezer House on Friday, October 14 when they hosted their annual charity golf day.

Ebenezer House is a non-profit organisation looking after fully functional adults with Bipolar or Schizophrenia. The home receives a monthly bed subsidy from the Department of Health, which often falls short of their financial obligations and so they rely on the public and corporate sector for assistance.

“That’s why we host various charity events – to raise funds to help sustain the home and keep it open and functional. We recently hosted one such event – our well-known golf day, which has always been a highlight on our yearly calendar,” organiser Kerry von Buddenbrock said.

The special event was hosted at the Krugersdorp Golf Club and saw many avid golfers support the initiative while sharpening their golf skills. According to Kerry the day was a huge success and great fun for all who were involved.

“The vibe that was created was energetic and all the golfers thoroughly enjoyed themselves with what the day had to offer. The day also ended on a high note with fabulous prizes, a successful raffle and an impressive auction that saw some prized autographed memorabilia being won,” she concluded.

“The generous contributions to the day are noted and we hope that everyone who attended will think of us for next year’s charity golf day as well. We would like to thank each and every person who contributed to the successful event.”
