This past weekend my husband and I celebrated our 23rd wedding anniversary. I realise that 23 years might seem trivial if you think that there are couples who have been married for 30, 40, 50 or even 60 years, but I do believe that it is quite a milestone if you measure it against current standards.

Marriages these days do not always last that long, because couples do not always realise that you have to work hard to stay together. It is a common thing these days to rather replace something that is not working anymore instead of fixing it, and I think this is one of the main reasons why getting married (and staying married) is a rare commodity.
