New Laerskool Culembeeck principal brings wealth of experience

“My mission is to ensure that teachers are in class, on time and are able to use all the resources optimally for the benefit of learners, as well as to improve extra, co-curricular activities and infrastructure while enhancing communication with all stakeholders."

Newly appointed Laerskool Culembeeck Principal Advocate Melta Manganye (née Kganyago) is looking forward to her journey of leading her school to greater heights.

The dedicated educator and disciplinarian has been in the education industry for 30 years and she is still loving every second of it.

Manganye who has specialised in Education Law and labour laws comes with a wealth of experience in education and school management.

The highly educated school leader was admitted as an advocate of the High Court of South Africa in 2018. When asked by the Record about her reason for choosing education as a career, Manganye did not hesitate to indicate that the only inspiring profession at the time was teaching.

Her passion for teaching kept her in the system irrespective of having acquired three post-graduate qualifications in Law.

The vision of the new principal is to ensure that every learner leaves the school having acquired all the knowledge and skills appropriate for their exit grade.

“My mission is to ensure that teachers are in class, on time and are able to use all the resources optimally for the benefit of learners, as well as to improve extra, co-curricular activities and infrastructure while enhancing communication with all stakeholders.

“My message to the community is to value and protect the school premises and the textbooks loaned to the learners, as well as my sincere request to parents to pay outstanding school fees … and to show up on the day of the AGM to be announced by the end of the week,” said Manganye.
