An increasingly digital world demands young minds fit for purpose.

Dios Los Ninos (DLN) School became the latest school to invest in the future when they announced that coding would make up part of their offering for 2023. In addition to the future-focused curriculum, DLN will also be offering the International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) AS Levels for Grades 10 to 12, the equivalent to the GCSE qualification written by learners in the United Kingdom.

The coding classes will begin with the grade fours through to nines and come after a four-week trial run done with the older grades.

“This subject will enhance the opportunities for our learners in the world after school. The feedback was incredibly positive and from our side we are very excited to start this wonderful opportunity with the rest of our learners,” said DLN principal, Leonie Leppich.

DLN is registered with both the Gauteng Department of Education and the Pearson British Curriculum, delivered through Teneo. 2023 will see the Tauber Street school expand from Grade 0 to matric where learners can earn both matric and university exception, based on subjects, once they finish their AS levels.
