The 2022 Action Netball Junior Gauteng Super League made a stop at the home of the Hillfox Hornets for a Saturday of end-to-end hoops. The Super League is a weekly round-robin circuit competition where each round is played at a different participating arena between teams made up of the best U/11 to U/19 players from those specific arenas.

Each age-specific league is made up of seven to 11 teams, with the ever-present arenas being represented by Hillfox, Fourways, Meyersdal, Edenvale, Centurion and Sandton. Coming from further afield but still hosting their own rounds, teams from Secunda, Pretoria, Krugersdorp and the Vaal all have a chance to share the hospitable responsibilities.

The August 20 showcase was just the third round of the competition which will end with finals in November. To get to the championships games, teams earn four points for a win, half a point for every five goals scored and a bonus pointy for having their registration forms completed correctly. At the conclusion of their home leg, several Hornets were looking good with six teams topping one of the 13 respective leagues.

The U/12As remained unbeaten with a 53–10 win over Centurion as the U/12Bs made it four wins out of four, one of a few teams to have played an extra double header. The U/13A and B teams were second on their logs, as were the U/14As but the U/14Bs were placed one better.

The U/15As were joint top with Meyersdal while the U/16As were well out in front having scored 217 goals in their four games. The two most senior teams, the U/17s and U/19s, were setting the example with first and second placed standings, respectively. The senior tour, which features mixed U/19 through to O/35 men and women, will visit Hillfox on October 1.
