For the past month Ebenezer Psychiatric Home has been running low on supplies and are now scraping the barrel for basic necessities.

“We always help where possible, but this time around we are pleading with the community and corporate companies for help. We are in desperate need of food and other basic necessities,” house manager Lee-Ann Scholz explained.

They are appealing for donations in the form of rice, pasta, bread, sugar, coffee, long-life milk, Cremora, sandwich spreads, oil, canned foods, washing powder, fabric softener and dish-washing liquid and/ or powder to name just a few of the items they need.

“The continual rise in costs mainly due to the petrol price increases is making it very difficult to budget for basic food commodities such as bread, butter, milk, etc. Also affected are amenity costs like water and lights, telephone and the basic overheads to sustain the home,” she said.

If you wish to lend a helping hand and make a donation, Lee-Ann and her team can be contacted on 073 556 5159 or 011 955 6595. You can also send an email to admin@ebenezer-house.co.za.
