Lions are involved with various projects within the community and anyone can make a difference by helping them build a better future through the very worthwhile projects, because where there’s a need, there’s a Lion.

“Just one of these projects is the Lions Roodepoort Eye Clinic. The Roodepoort Host Lions Club is very involved in the running of our Eye Clinic where people who have no medical aid, only receive a SASSA grant or are unemployed – whether a student or an old age pensioner – can come and be referred to an optician,” she explained.

“They will then receive an eye test, choose a frame and have their specs made up at a nominal fee, or in some cases be further assisted. You can help us give the gift of sight!”

The club also serves the mentally and physically disabled through fun and games such as their well-known Buddy Days. Sandy also mentioned that they’ve recently visited Floroma Old Age Home to treat the residents to lunch and an afternoon of fun and music.
