Poorte players selected for GLRU amateur squad

EcoRubber Roodepoort Rugby Club was one of the clubs that congratulated their players who were included in the Golden Lions Rugby Union (GLRU) amateur squad on Wednesday, August 17.
The selected club rugby players will be getting exposure and a chance to showcase their talent on a provincial level that is more competitive and presents an opportunity for recognition.
Poorte’s try-scoring machine, Ruan du Toit, has been included in the GLRU amateur team that will play against the Pumas in Barberton on Saturday, August 20.
Randfontein Rugby Club speedster Itu Mpete starts on the left wing while Raiders Rugby Club’s Marvin Snyer will be looking to find some space on the right wing.

The GLRU amateur team 2022 represents the top quality selected from the different open clubs.
Former Falcons lock Andrew Volschenk and his Randfontein Rugby Club lock partner Christoff Kleyn will look to challenge the line-out battle and complete the scrum.
Flank Morné Piater is another Poorte player who excels week after week and deserves his place in the starting line-up.
Germiston Simmer Rugby Club’s pocket-rocket Cameron Lentoor will start at fullback while Raiders’ John Khubeka will take the crucial fly half position.
