Kind soul looking to donate wheelchair

'I know there is someone in the community in need of a wheelchair, but who can't necessarily afford it,'

Famous author Charles Glassman once said that kindness begins with the understanding that we all struggle.

When business coach, Pieter Marx relocated to Roodepoort from Witbank in the beginning of June, he had no idea that he was going to be the answer to someone’s prayers. According to Pieter he has taken over a well-known second-hand retail store in Horison in an effort to save the business.

“Very recently a person came into the shop with a wheelchair. Unfortunately we (the shop) didn’t need one, but he was so desperate to feed his family, I couldn’t show him away,” he said.

So Pieter helped his fellow man by purchasing the wheelchair. Not knowing anyone in the community, nor anyone who is in need of a wheelchair, he approached the Record with the aim of donating the wheelchair to someone in need.

“Money is not everything and it’s important for us to help our fellow man in need. I know there is someone in the community in need of a wheelchair, but who can’t necessarily afford it. I want to help that person as I believe that this is how God works,” Pieter explained.

So, if you, or anyone you know is in need of a wheelchair, you can send an email to pieter.marx@mweb.co.za. Once he has identified a recipient, the Record will inform the community through a follow-up article.
