Honeydew police arrest two men in connection with death of Cosmo City pastor
Suspects alleged to have shot pastor during robbery at church
Two men have been arrested in connection with the murder of a pastor in Cosmo City, June 20.
The pastor died after being shot during a robbery the night before Youth Day, June 15. The two thugs were in the process of robbing five members on the church premises when, after the the pastor had made his presence known, they gunned him down. The attackers fled the premises with an undisclosed amount of cash as well as various cell phones.
One of the suspects was apprehended on June 20 and was identified by witnesses in an ID parade. This led police to the second suspect who was duly arrested. Honeydew police spokesperson, Captain Balan Muthan, confirmed the arrests and stated that the suspects would also face additional charges after having been found in possession of an unlicensed firearm and live ammunition.
