ICF founder among ward committee candidates

Community members based in Ward 70 are encouraged by ICF to head out to one of the voting stations on Saturday, May 21 between 09:00 and 16:00 and vote for real change, which includes the inclusion and development of the youth of Ward 70.

Ipeleng Cares Foundation (ICF), the not for profit company based in Fleurhof, is thrilled to share the uplifting news that their founder, Ipeleng Mofokeng is one of the candidates for the ward committee position under Community Development: Youth, Sports & Culture in Ward 70.

The ward consisting of Florida, Florida North, Florida Park, Florida Hills, Fleurhof and Robertville has many challenges that require strong leadership and realistic solutions.

The position is one of the ten within the ward committee, of which the purpose will be to assist and support the ward councillor in order to reach the highest efficiency in service delivery.

Community members based in Ward 70 are encouraged by ICF to head out to one of the voting stations on Saturday, May 21 between 09:00 and 16:00 and vote for real change, which includes the inclusion and development of the youth of Ward 70.

When Ipeleng was asked her why she thinks the community should vote for her, this is what she said, “I am thrilled and excited about being nominated. I am driven to bring change that promotes the inclusion, support and development of the youth, as well as the involvement of youth in sports and community upliftment, and to provide youth with psychosocial support to face challenges such as peer pressure, drug abuse and bullying”.

The requirements for voting are that residents must be 18 years or older and already a registered voter resident of Ward 70.

Ipeleng Cares Foundation has been working to identify psychosocial challenges that affect children and find sustainable solutions to them.
