Wishes come true at the Christmas wonderland

All the stops were pulled out on the first night of the Christmas Wonderland to bring the holiday cheer.

The first night of the Christmas wonderland at the Walter Sisulu National Botanical Garden certainly brought the holiday spirit to the attendees. There was more than enough glitter to look at on December 10 – from Santa Claus and his little helpers to a star-lit walk through the gardens.

Event organiser, Antoinette de Beer said they were pleased with the turnout and looked forward to welcoming more people as Christmas draws closer. “We wanted to do something for families to enjoy a lovely evening outdoors and get into the Christmas spirit. There are jumping castles and a play area or the kids, and parents can relax on the grass while having a picnic. We have lights displayed everywhere so there is quite a lot to look at.”

The Christmas wonderland will be at the Garden until December 24 from 18:00. There will be a night market with stalls selling a variety of items, including food and drinks.

Tanya van Vuuren said the event was a wonderful experience, “The lights are very pretty and everything is so beautiful. We are having a great time.”
