24Seven Gymnastics aiming for more medals at upcoming SA Gym Games

Luitha Roux hands out medals earned at recent provincial qualifier

24Seven Trampoline and Gymnastics handed out medals to their top-performing athletes on September 27.

The medals were earned at the recently completed Acro Gauteng Festival which was a testing event for the upcoming South African Gym Games. The event was a virtual testing but the team will now be competing in person at the Centurion-hosted national event from October 1 to October 9.

Medals were given to Lienke Immelmann, mixed pairs team Gianna Leonard and Jean-Troy Roux, as well as level-six athletes Robyn Raadt and Lika Kloppers. Brothers Wesley and Ulrich du Plessis picked up gold medals, while Luan le Roux and Johno du Preez earned silver. Nicole du Toit, Maxine Fischer, Cyrece Louw and Ava du Preez are the multi-talented athletes who will be competing in multiple levels on more than one day of the competition.

AcroSport levels are determined by the difficulty of the routine, not age, and coach Luitha Roux is very confident of more positive results. “We are all very proud of them and know they will give 100% at the upcoming competition. They have worked hard and the results show that,” said the proud mentor.
