West Rand Chatroom believe Covid-19 pandemic can be beaten

"We are proof that cancer can be managed and beaten. We also believe that the Covid-19 pandemic can be beaten."

With social gatherings permitted again, the West Rand Chatroom was excited to announce the reconvening of their intimate cancer-related meetings in March.

According to the Chatroom, their main purpose is to provide help and guidance to cancer survivors and caregivers by means of sharing experiences, talks and expert advice from professionals.

“I am a member of the support group, which is now seven years running. It is a small group of people consisting of cancer survivors like myself who came together for the first time on March 14, 2014.

“We are proof that cancer can be managed and beaten. We also believe that the Covid-19 pandemic can be beaten,” said cancer survivor Pat Moodliar.

The Chatroom is advising the community to take care by simply taking the following precautions:

• Wash your hands for at least 20 seconds

• Sanitize your hands regularly

• Wear your mask at all times

• Practice social distancing

• Register to be vaccinated
