Number of active Covid-19 cases in Region C up to 4 172

The total number of active Covid-19 cases in the City of Johannesburg is at 21 724 according to the latest report by the Gauteng Provincial Government.

The number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in City of Johannesburg, Region C, stood at 29 546 according to Gauteng Provincial Government’s latest breakdown. A total of 24 933 people have recovered thus far. There has been 441 Covid-19 related deaths. This brings the total number of active cases in the area to 4 172.

Rand West City and Merafong City, and Mogale City which forms part of the West Rand District, have had 9 528, 6 424 and 17 934 cases respectively. Rand West City, Merafong City and Mogale City have seen 7 913, 5 671, and 14 920 recoveries respectively.

The total number of Covid-19 cases reported in the City of Johannesburg is 213 684 with 3 787 deaths and 188 173 recoveries. This brings the total number of active cases in the District to 21 724.

The total number of confirmed Covid-19 cases in Gauteng was standing at 545 262 with 477 493 recoveries and 12 079 deaths. This translates to 55 690 active cases within the Province.
