Advertising done wrongly

'We all have post boxes that you can use to deposit your pamphlets.'

Helgard Holtzhausen from Roodepoort writes:

I am submitting the following for letters as everyone that I have spoken to is of the same opinion:

Every week, as I drive down the street towards my house, there are pamphlets fluttering from gates and intercom poles. It’s never something new or interesting, it’s always advertising for the same old services. What is more irritating than the obvious littering when these pamphlets come loose from where they are taped, is the insidious damage caused to private property. Every week, I and other people have to remove this illegally placed advertising from our gates and fences, removing a bit of paint in the process.

My questions to the advertiser are: Why would I use your services if you don’t have respect for my property, and why would you use a distribution/ advertising service that disrespects your prospective customers?

My questions to the advertiser and distributors are: Who gave you permission to attach your product to my private property? Who gave you permission to advertise on my private property? Do your clients know that you are a litterbug and in the habit of doing damage to private property while advertising their services?

Now there are even people who think they can stick stickers on our property. What’s next? Will I wake up one morning with a billboard on my front lawn?

We all have post boxes that you can use to deposit your pamphlets. Please make use of then and stop using masking tape and Prestic on private property. Your method is not innovative. It irritates your client’s customers and damages their property.

Enough is enough.
