Locals invited to church picnic

This event is set to be held at the church’s premises at 60 Johan Road in Honeydew on Saturday, 27 March from 12.30pm at no cost to the public.

Following the much-needed prayer initiative for frontline workers and the sick, Frontline City Church has planned a bring-and-picnic for the community to celebrate these public servants while uniting everyone in Christ fellowship.

This event is set to be held at the church’s premises at 60 Johan Road in Honeydew on Saturday, 27 March from 12.30pm at no cost to the public.

The church’s Justice and Community upliftment coordinator, Pastor Wendy McKillop elaborated further on the purpose of the picnic. “Frontline City Church believes that, in addition to spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ, the church should also be relevant in their community.

“The church has a Justice and Community Upliftment ministry for that very purpose. Over the past month or so the church has spent time praying for and getting to meet some of our community’s heroes (men and women) who selflessly serve our community, without many in our community even knowing they exist.
“We are hoping that through this bring-and-picnic event, the community will be able to meet some of these amazing men and women who protect and serve us in so many ways,” she explained.
She added that they will be inviting NGOs, law-enforcement agencies, and volunteer organisations who serve in the community to join them on this special day.

“We will also have some sponsored prizes to give away, pony rides and fun. So bring your own picnic basket with cutlery, blankets, and own food and drinks (no alcohol),” she further extended the invitation to the public.

In respect of Covid protocols, Wendy said that masks were to be worn, and should they reach the prescribed number of attendees, they will be forced to limit attendance.

To attend, RSVP (WhatsApp only) to 074 175 6542 with your name and number of people attending.
