The 32-year-old man faces charges of murder, conspiracy to commit murder, and defeating the ends of justice.

Ntuthuko Shoba, the alleged mastermind behind the murder of Tshegofatso Pule, is set to return to court for a bail application on Monday, 1 March.

Shoba was remanded in custody on Monday, 22 February after he appeared briefly in the Roodepoort Magistrates’ Court following his arrest two days earlier.

Shoba was sold out by his friend, convicted murderer Muzikayise Malephane, who confessed to being the hired hit man to kill Tshego, who was heavily pregnant at the time of her brutal death.

Tshego was found hanging from a tree in Durban Deep on 4 June 2020. She had a bullet wound to her chest.

Although it is unclear what Shoba will opt for, the family of the deceased hopes that the accused is denied bail.
