Public asked for additional information on motorbike stolen in Roodepoort West

“Please, all we want is the bike back.”

Having the freedom of one’s personal transportation and movement stripped away is a gut-wrenching and infuriating feeling.

A KTM390 RC was stolen from Buitekant Street in the early hours of 6 February. CCTV footage gathered by the owners from the area’s cameras tracked the suspects through the residential streets to a location in Davidsonville. Police responded to the scene but the suspects in question were no longer at the premises.

A case has been opened at Roodepoort Police Station. This incident is just one of several motorbike thefts that have come to light recently. Motorcycle owners are urged to ensure that their vehicles are stored in a safe location, preferably under lock and key and with an alarm. Any members of the public with information on related incidents are urged to contact their nearest police station.

While justice may be sought for the crime, the most immediate concern is the return of a valuable asset. “Please, all we want is the bike back,” pleaded Belinda, whose family member owns the motorcycle.

Should anyone know the whereabouts of the pictured KTM, they are asked to call Roodepoort Police on 011 279 6400 or Belinda on 081 207 4619.
