Two taken to hospital after Friday afternoon accident on Christiaan De Wet Road

No fatalities reported but both patients have sustained serious injuries

The gradual increase in new year traffic combined with afternoon rain have proved to be treacherous driving conditions.

According to Emer-G-Med paramedics on scene, two light motor vehicles collided at the intersection of Beverley Drive and and Christiaan De Wet Road. The incident occurred shortly after 3pm on Friday, 8 January, with two of the motorists sustaining serious injuries.

Emer-G-Med and Netcare 911 paramedics each transported one patient to nearby hospitals under advanced life support. The scene has been cleared and traffic has returned to normal. Even with a ban on alcohol and a strict 9pm curfew in place, motorists are reminded to be extra vigilant as the community returns to it’s customary daily routines.
