• Time to de-stress at Melville Koppies
These Covid times are difficult. Many of us of all age groups are stressed. Come and explore Melville Koppies Nature Reserve and Heritage Site on a Sunday morning and renew yourself. You’ll be given a trail map at the entrance that is very easy to navigate, together with an information sheet. Just orientate yourself north and choose which trail you’d like to do. The contour lines indicate the degree of difficulty. If they are far apart, the slope is gentle; close together and you’ll do some heavy breathing. Plan your walk to suit your needs. Choose the forest and river walk if it’s a hot day. If you want the views, you’ll have to do the heavy breathing.
Now, you do not need to plan ahead anymore and can just arrive on a Sunday at 8am for a self-guided tour. Just ensure you are out by 11.30am. Entrance fees are R80 for adults and R40 for children, and to make things easier, ensure you bring the exact amount. If you are a group of 10 or more, entrance fees should be paid via EFT beforehand, and names and cellphone numbers of the group should be emailed to wendavid@mweb.co.za. For more information, phone 011 482 4797 or visit www.mk.org.za.
