#JusticeforTshego: Tshegofatso Pule’s murder accused dumps Legal Aid for private attorney

The accused has been remanded in custody.

The accused in the Tshegofatso Pule murder case made another brief appearance before the Roodepoort Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, 24 June.

However, this time via the Audio-visual Remand (AVR) system from a correctional facility in Krugersdorp. But, that did not stop members of the Economic Freedom Fighters and African National Congress to picket outside the court, demanding justice for Tshego.

The 31-year-old, who is facing charges of premeditated murder, made a U-turn when he ditched Legal Aid representation and opted to pay for his own private attorney.Magistrate John Baloyi adjourned the case to 2 July for this reason, and for further investigation.

The accused has been remanded in custody.

Tshegofatso was found murdered in Durban Deep, Roodepoort on 11 June after having been missing for three days. Her lifeless body with stab wounds was found hanging from a tree in a veld, which sparked uproar and marches against gender-based violence.
