Inner sparkles were definitely ignited among the hordes of women who decided to ‘par-tea’ with The EARTH Centre on Saturday, 15 February.
With the entire high-tea event themed around the word ‘tea’, the attendees were spoilt abundantly with opportuni-teas, possibili-teas and musical performances by a celebri-tea, Linda Killian, who sang some of her hottest hits.

Nicolas Ras, the marketing coordinator of the Centre spoke about the inspiration behind this well-attended event. “The idea was to do something a little different for Valentine’s Day, so we decided to host a ladies-inspired event in a form of a high tea, which would be a little more classy, inspiring and encouraging for women to see their uniqueness and most importantly, warm their hearts,” she explained.
Debbie Swanepoel, the founder of Debswane Projects, who was the emcee, kept everyone interested as she shared some of her childhood and family stories which left the room in stitches.
“The Debswane Projects is part of an organisation where we try and motivate women and at the same time have a charity element to our events,” Debbie explained.
She added that she decided to partner with the EARTH Centre after being touched by their good deeds. “Everything the Centre does – from helping the disabled to looking after the horses – is incredible. This was a wonderful way to help them, as they are non-funded,” she said.
The event concluded with a raffle prize-giving, delicious treats and more music.
