Speed camera woes

'Like an idiot I paid a fine when, as the other gentleman who was caught also mentioned, I never exceed the speed limit especially when I know where they trap.'

The Johannesburg Metropolitan Police Department (JMPD) set up a camera hidden behind a rubbish bin on the corner of JG Strijdom Road and Amarant Street.

They trap vehicles travelling between Cornelius and Amarant Streets. As far as my limited knowledge goes, there is supposed to be a speed limit sign with a camera in order to be compliant. There is no such sign as the company laying the water pipes appear to have removed it.

Like an idiot I paid a fine when, as the other gentleman who was caught also mentioned, I never exceed the speed limit, especially when I know where they trap.

I would suggest that anyone who was fined from this hidden camera point should not even receive a document which states the speed camera was compliant with the Act.
