Ex-Springbok to coach Poorte backline and defence
Fourie, arguably the best Springbok centre in the modern era, will focus his services as a backline and defence coach for the 2020 season.
In their efforts to bolster their 2019 squad, Roto Tank Roodepoort Rugby Club is delighted to welcome ex-Springbok, Stormers, Golden Lions and the current USA Rugby backline and defensive coach, Jaque Fourie as part of their coaching system.
Club chairperson, Mathys Booyens said, “We thank Jaque for taking the time to give back to the community he lives in and help us develop the youth in our area”.
The former Springbok centre assisted the USA team during the past World Cup as a defence coach and will now assist Poorte by throwing his weight behind and sharing his vast knowledge with the Roodepoort outfit.
Fourie, arguably the best Springbok centre in the modern era, will focus his services as a backline and defence coach for the 2020 season.
Sparrow, as he is popularly known, played in 72 tests for the Springboks and in 98 Super Rugby matches; he was also a member of the Springbok team that won the World Cup in 2007.
With new coach, Louw Parsons, having the best support system available, the club’s big plans for the 2020 Pirates Grand Challenge look to be on track.
