Young batsman gets better by the over

The 15-year-old batsman from Hoërskool Noordheuwel is quite an all-rounder as he can also produce some impressive bowling when required.

Young cricket sensation, Ronan Herrmann from Ruimsig, who has a natural talent with the cricket bat, is proving to be quite the magician for Gauteng and his school’s cricket side.

The 15-year-old batsman from Hoërskool Noordheuwel is something of an all-rounder too, as he can also produce some impressive bowling when required. He already plays for his school’s 1st cricket team, and has a highest score of 139 runs under his belt.

Ronan has won the U/15 Gauteng batsman of the year award, and has already been selected to play for the U/17A Gauteng side.

He said, “It is my dream to be selected for the South African U/19 side and work towards representing my country by playing for the Proteas one day.”

The promising cricket star has been training at Ruimsig Cricket Academy for five years and was chosen in July to attend the South African U/17 Cricket Camp in Potchefstroom.

Coach Jared Newton said, “With more youngsters of the same quality as Ronan, South Africa’s cricket future would seem to be in capable hands.”
