101 Hits to help CCCO grow

The 101 Hits show at the Barnyard Theatre helped the CCCO organisation to appoint not just one new project coordinator but, with the help from another organisation, they were able to take on four new coordinators.

Cross Connect Community Outreach (CCCO) recently held a fundraising event which would help them in the coming months to continue their hard work to improve the preschools under their care.

Their main mission is to help out the schools’ financial situation, and to upgrade their facilities to bring them up to the Education Department’s strict standards. To bring in enough money to allow them to do this, they hosted a very successful fundraising event at the Silverstar Barnyard on 16 August.

During the two-hour show, the cast performed 101 songs from the 80s, 90s, early 2000s and now. The crowd was wowed and became more eager to open up their wallets. About 160 people showed up to watch the show.

Beforehand and during the fundraiser, the CCCO organisers acquired multiple pledges from people and businesses to give a few hundred Rand to the organisation every month. This will help them grow and continue doing their good work in the future. But, CCCO is still completely reliant on outside help to function as they keep expanding their horizons and taking on new projects.
