Charlotte du Plessis, CEO and Founder of Woman of Stature said, “We have created this platform for women who aspire to become business owners. We have noticed that South Africa is faced with an incredible economic challenge, and the government has expressed its interest in supporting entrepreneurship as a way to deal with unemployment, instead of only depending on the government for a source of income”.

She added that retrenchment has become a common phenomenon, not only in South Africa, but world-wide as well, due to many companies closing down or reducing their workforce. When this happens, people need to fall back on their own knowledge and skills, which in turn need to be nurtured to become flourishing businesses.

Nedbank taught the attendees about the basic fundamentals of financial management and cash flow as without this knowledge, businesses cannot flourish.
