Shanaya’s brother supports Tekkie Day to honour her

The late Shanaya Govender’s brother, Kesh, celebrated and supported International Tekkie Tax Day in honour of his sister and every child with a disability.

Kesh’s picture was posted on the ‘Shanaya the First vs Ewings Sarcoma’ Facebook page wearing a pair of takkies. The post received a number of comments from family and friends who also posted pictures of themselves wearing takkies for the day.

Although the little girl lost her battle with bone cancer a few weeks ago, her spirit lives on through her loved ones and those that knew her.

The fundraising show that was held last week at the Barnyard Theatre at Silverstar was planned before her death, and had to go on, to symbolise Shanaya’s bravery and never-give-up attitude.

Tekkie Tax has become a household name over the past 6 years. This year, International Tekkie Tax Day is celebrated on Friday, 31 May and you have to make sure that you are properly “Tekkie-tized”!
