Principal delighted by 100 per cent pass rate

As he congratulated the former learners who arrived at the school, principal Langley expressed his joy for their sterling achievements.

The King’s School West Rand principal Ken Langley hailed his academic staff and learners for producing a 100 per cent matric pass rate and full university entrance.

The school was one of many Independent Examination Board (IEB) registered schools in the country that welcomed back its former matriculants when they collected their final results on Thursday, 3 January.

As he congratulated the former learners who arrived at the school, Langley expressed his joy for their superlative achievements.

“I’m very proud of our learners, as well as the teachers who did a good job investing into the learners and ensuring that they produce good marks,” he said.

He explained that 94 per cent of the 100 per cent university entry achievers have the choice to study towards a bachelor’s degree, while the others can enrol for diploma courses.

Langley was also optimistic about the future of his former learners. “I’m very confident about their future. I’m sure they will continue their good performance on tertiary education level and beyond,” he said.

He added that they are looking to building on this achievement with the incoming class of matrics, “ … but at the end of the day it’s a team effort – it’s not just an effort by the matric teachers, it’s all the teachers from the junior grades upwards. Of course the learners need to work hard and their parents have to offer their support at home,” he concluded.
