Xmas market well-attended in the garden

The event organiser Michele van Zyl could not be happier about the great results she witnessed on the day.

The annual Christmas market and Christmas Carol function held at the Walter Sisulu Botanical Garden has proved to be growing by leaps and bounds.

This event, which showcases a variety of creative stalls and performances throughout the course of the day, saw huge numbers of visitors on Saturday, 1 December.

The event organiser, Michele van Zyl, could not be happier about the great results she witnessed on the day. “We’ve been running the Christmas market and Christmas Carol function for three years. This year we could only accommodate 31 stalls because of space limitations,” she said.

However, their normal monthly markets accommodate up to 50 stalls in the garden. The monthly market takes place every first weekend of the month.

Michele reflected on the great attendance. “The Lord blessed us with good weather, and we had lots of people visiting the garden for this event,” she said, also promising a bigger and better event next year.
