WATCH: March evokes emotions to dwellers

The memorundum is expected to be read and handed over at 11am

Emotions are running for Zandspruit informal settlement residents who are marching against crime in their area.

The residents, who have blockaded the intersection of Beyers Naude Drive and Juice Road outside Honeydew Police Station, shared some of their endurances dealing with the Honeydew Police Station when following up on criminal cases.

Most of the dwellers have accused the station for lacking manpower and turning a blind eye on criminal activities in the area such as the rape, murder and abuse of children in the settlement.

WATCH HERE:

The leadership of the march have refused to handover the memorandum to the station’s head and called for the the MEC of Safety to come and accept it and act on the station’s ‘poor’ service to the community.

The memorundum is expected to be read and handed over  at 11am.
