Hero in the fight against poverty and hunger passes away

Peter passed away on Thursday, 9 August.

Peter Pretorius was a pioneer in the fight against hunger and poverty, but his time has sadly come to an end.

According to an announcement by Joint Aid Management (JAM) South Africa, Peter, its co-founder, passed away on Thursday, 9 August.

“On 9 August, the world lost a legend, the poverty-stricken in Africa lost one of their greatest champions, we lost our leader, Ann lost her partner and husband, the Pretorius family lost their father and Oupa and Heaven welcomed a true hero.

“Our JAM father, Peter Pretorius passed away and went to be with Jesus. Please hold the family in your prayers,” the post read.

Peter will be remembered at a celebration of his life at Rhema Bible Church North on Hans Schoeman Street, Bromhof, Randburg. The service will begin at 10am on Saturday, 18 August.
