Knitted items donated for Mandela Day

Members of the church handed out scarves, beanies, gloves, soup, billboard sleeping bags and blankets on Mandela’s birthday as part of their 67 minutes and 'Winterhoop' project.

 

About 80 underprivileged people benefited from a Mandela Day project hosted by the NG Kerk Weltevreden.

Members of the church handed out scarves, beanies, gloves, soup, billboard sleeping bags and blankets on Mandela’s birthday as part of their 67 minutes and ‘Winterhoop’ project.

The congregants were asked to knit or crochet items by the church. With their help, the church was able to hand out 300 beanies, 200 scarves and 30 pairs of gloves, and also sponsor sleeping bags made out of recycled billboard material.
