Get screened at the botanical garden this May Measurement Month
A group of Honours students from the University of South Africa will be hosting free blood pressure screenings at the Walter Sisulu National Botanical Garden in Poortview until 31 May.
Hypertension is the leading risk factor for death around the world, and now’s your chance to avoid it by getting your blood pressure screened.
If you could be part of the 50 per cent of people who have high blood pressure but don’t know it, and if you want to avoid being one of the 10 million people who die from hypertension every year, then you best head on over to the Walter Sisulu National Botanical Garden, where a group of Honours students from Unisa are running a blood pressure testing initiative.
The initiative forms part of the global May Measurement Month campaign initiated by the International Society of Hypertension, and has more than 100 countries taking part.
The group can be found at the garden during the week between 7.30am and 3pm, as well as on Saturdays between 7.30am and noon, until 31 May.
