Angel lived and died a painful death

The 9th Day (Animal Rescue) Facebook page announced the death of Angel who lost her life fighting the dreaded Parvo virus.

While the caretakers of Angel, the emaciated puppy and the community had started to believe she would recover, the news that she died this morning (28 March) has saddened many.

The 9th Day (Animal Rescue) Facebook page has announced the death of Angel, who lost her life fighting the dreaded Parvo virus.

According to Pet MD, the canine parvovirus (CPV) infection is a highly contagious viral illness that affects dogs. The virus manifests itself in two different forms. The more common form is the intestinal form, which is characterised by vomiting, diarrhoea, weight loss, and lack of appetite (anorexia).

“Baby Angel joined the Heavenly Angels yesterday (27 March). Sadly she lost the fight to the dreaded disease – Parvo :-( Her tiny body just wasn’t strong enough.

“I’m sorry your humans failed you, Angel, and I’m sorry we couldn’t give you the happy ending you deserved,” the post read. The site was overwhelmed by messages of condolences to the poor dog.

Gary Jordaan, Angel’s caretaker, has confirmed her death.

Any developments will be shared as information is made available.
