Teens run for safety after car chase

“The children could only describe the vehicle as a smallish blue bakkie similar to a Nissan NP200,” Rudi Holtzhausen from BCI Security said.

BCI Security operations manager Rudi Holtzhausen has urged parents to caution their children to be extra vigilant on busy roads, especially as holidays are upon us.

The warning comes after Holtzhausen assisted two teenagers who ran into BCI offices in Little Falls, alleging that they were being pursued by a bakkie with two occupants this week.

“We had two teenagers followed by a blue bakkie with two occupants inside the bakkie. Fortunately, both teenagers managed to run to our offices on Augrabies Street for help,” he said.

He added that the perpetrators sped off and unfortunately the registration number of the vehicle was not obtained. “The children could only describe the vehicle as a blue smallish bakkie similar to a Nissan NP 200,” Holtzhausen explained.

This vehicle has not been seen in the area again, but the security company is on the lookout for it.

“Please educate your children to be extra vigilant during the up and coming school holidays while walking on our streets,” he said, urging anyone to report any suspicious activities in the area.
