Four leaves for love at charity event
Everyone arrived in original Irish attire.
The wonderful St Patrick’s Day Irish Charity evening at Ruimsig Country Club, in aid of Shalom – a home for the physically and mentally disabled, and Tower of Life – a shelter for the destitute, was a huge success.
The evening was fully booked, with 300 people attending. Everyone arrived in original Irish attire. Celtic Blue, a local live band, played instruments and sang amazing Irish songs which made many take to the dance floor.

An incredible display of prizes, donated by local businesses, made the evening very exciting. A holiday worth R7 000 was won by a delighted Gill Stacey.
Two auctions, run by Kim Pratley, took place. Kim had the audience in stitches as he described the mommy and baby soft toy elephants that were to be auctioned. Over R4 000 was collected for this auction. A beautiful acrylic painting, done by local artist, Jade Culhane, fetched an amazing R7 000.

A delicious Irish stew and dessert were served later and enjoyed by all.
“We thank all those who attended, and supported these two deserving charities. The support and donations from the public have been incredible”, said Monica Culhane, Carol Vos and Val Pratley, who organised this event.
