JMPD enforces city by-laws on busy Roodepoort route

MMC for Economic Development and Ward 97 councillor, Leah Knott, has been sharing a string of activities conducted by JMPD on Hendrik Potgieter Road.

 

Johannesburg Metro Police Department (JMPD) personnel have been hard at work these past few weeks, conducting law enforcement operations along Hendrik Potgieter Road.

The details of the string of law enforcement activities were shared by the MMC for Economic Development and councillor for Ward 97, Leah Knott, who updated the public on every campaign taking place on the busy route on her social media pages.

On 12 February, JMPD held a pedestrian awareness campaign next to Makro to educate people about the dangers of crossing the roads. This was followed by a joint operation between Pikitup and JMPD on 20 February which saw a clean-up being held behind Pick n Pay on Hendrik Potgieter Road where piles of rubbish had been dumped.

On the same day, a score of officers conducted a stop and search between Krugerrand and Hendrik Potgieter Roads.
