Maragon blitzes its way through Bryanston cricket side to win by 450 runs

Maragon High School Ruimsig's first cricket team came up against Bryanston High School, and scored a mammoth total of 483 runs in their 50 overs.

Rain van Niekerk and Emmanuel Motswiri were the top scorers for Maragon on the day out at Maragon Ruimsig, accumulating impressive scores of 232 off 151 balls and 104 off 52 balls respectively.

Emmanuel then came to the fore yet again, but with the ball in hand, taking five wickets for 18 runs in six overs.

Brent Barendsen also performed with the ball, taking four wicket for 15 runs in five overs.

Maragon eventually bowled Bryanston out for a meagre 33 to claim the match by 450 runs.

The U/15 side from Bryanston batted first in their clash with Maragon High School Ruimsig’s U/15 side before being bowled out for 184 with Dylan Caprazio grabbing four wickets for 38 runs in his seven overs.

Maragon would pass the target in no time, reaching the score in the 21st over with Blake Godfrey and Ross Seaton scoring 50 and 41 respectively, to win the game by five wickets.
