RCC welcomes junior golfers to final event

On a day that was perfect for a good round of golf, the golfers sure did pull up their socks.

Ruimsig Country Club (RCC) recently played host to the seventh and final event on the Central Gauteng Golfing Union’s (CGGU) Junior Festive Tour.

The event, which was divided into four divisions, namely the A, B, C, and U/13 divisions, was a fitting end to what was a successful Festive Tour for CGGU.

Maraisburg resident, Muhammad Dadoo, played a good round at Ruimsig Country Club.

Divisions were separated by handicap, rather than age, to ensure fair competition.

The 2017/ 18 Festive Tour was one of the most successful yet, and saw numbers of competitors rise to 100 at some events.

The day at RCC was a highlight for all, with a high standard of golf played.

U/13 Division winner, Rudy Sautron, shot an impressive 75 at three over par, to end his Festive Tour on a high.

Milton Mhlanga absolutely hammers his drive on the first hole after a decent first nine.

The C Division (handicaps 19–36) was won by Siyabonga Ntsele, who impressed with a round of 89.

The B Division (handicaps 8–18) belonged to Honeydew resident, Christian Relling, who shot an 82.

The day undoubtedly belonged to Jared Botha, who dominated the event to win the A Division (handicaps +4–7) with a brilliant five-under-par 67, despite a bogey on the 17th hole.

The next CGGU Junior tour is set to take place in the next school holidays.
