Wilgeheuwel Hospital welcomes three New Year’s babies in 2018

The maternity section at Life Wilgeheuwel Hospital checked in three new guests on New Year's Day 2018.

The first mom to welcome a new addition to her family this year is Jenine Simons. Her second son, Jared Simons was born at 3.55am. At birth, baby Jared weighed 3,110kg and was 48cm long. He was the heaviest of the three babies.

Next to arrive was baby Luka de Wet at 8.29am. He is Elona de Wet’s first child, and is a beloved addition to the family. Baby Luka weighed in at 2,875kg and was 48cm long, the lightest of the three babies born on New Year’s Day.

Last but not least, came baby Emmergene Young, the only girl born in Life Wilgeheuwel Hospital on New Year’s Day. She is Brigene Young’s second child and her first daughter.

Baby Emmergene was born at 9.17am and was the tallest of the three at 49cm. She weighed 3,05kg.
