Londoloza distributes toys following second successful sweet/ toy swap

Londoloza Protection Group held their second annual Santa Toy/ Sweet Swap on 9 December, where they traded small buckets of sweets with every person who contributed toys to their drive.

Londoloza’s Santa Toy/ Sweet Swap drive was aimed at swapping sweets for someone’s old toys, in an effort to donate toys to children in need.

The toy-run itself was a major success, with Londoloza stopping at five venues to swap their sweets for someone’s old toys, raking in approximately 2 500 toys, according to Londoloza’s marketing and events coordinator, Tana Cope.

The St Laurence’s Children’s Haven representatives were thankful for what the Londoloza team had done for them. Tilly Malan (co-owner of St Laurence’s Children’s Haven), Tana Cope (marketing and events coordinator for Londoloza Protection Group) and Pamela Colley (caregiver at St Laurence’s Children’s Haven).

“With great excitement and joy, we are now able to distribute almost 2500 toys to underprivileged children, homes and NPOs. The toys are going to St Laurence Children’s Haven, Lighthouse Children’s Home, Charity Begins With Me, and a number of informal settlements near the areas we collected from,” said Tana.

Brothers Josh and Neo were thrilled with the new toys they received.

The handover on Wednesday, 13 December was an immense success, with the children beaming from ear-to-ear at the sight of new toys to play with.
