Camera monitoring schedule revealed by Lifco

Hennie Schreuder, the executive committee member of Lifco, explained the partnership with security companies that will be in charge of monitoring the cameras that have been rolled out in the area.

 

The community of Little Falls and Strubens Valley can rest assured this festive season that their safety is being prioritised, now that the Little Falls and Strubens Valley Residential Community (Lifco) has announced the extra measures that have been put in place to ensure safety while working with local security companies in the area.

Hennie Schreuder, the executive committee member of Lifco, explained the partnership with security forces that will be in charge of monitoring the cameras that have been rolled out in the area.

The security forces have been divided to monitor different sections of the Lifco area. This will include monitoring and responding to suspicious activities and supervising various entrances to parks and the greenbelt.

“Lifco, together with Yesizwe, BCI and SRT security companies have ensured that as from the weekend the following CCTV cameras will be commissioned and monitored on a 24/7 basis,” he said. He notified that:

Yeziswe will monitor and respond to:

· The cameras at BP on the circle.

· The PTZ camera opposite the Kentucky outlet.

· The new cameras installed at the corner of Fredenharry and Witwatersrand Roads.

· The new PTZ camera installed in the mountain at the hikers’ entrance from Witwatersrand Road.

· The PTZ mountain camera behind Eagles View.

· The new cameras installed in the park area (where Lifco erected the lapa)

· The cameras on the corner of Cascades and Mac Mac Streets.

He said the cameras mentioned will allow Yeziswe to successfully monitor the entrance/ exit from Hendrik Potgieter Road into Fredenharry Road, The Lakes Park area, and also the mountain.

BCI will monitor and respond to:

· The cameras at the Cascades entrance from Hendrik Potgieter Road.

· The cameras on the corner of Cascades and Victoria Roads, leading to the Checkers centre.

· The PTZ camera at the entrance to the lower greenbelt area from Witwatersrand Road.

· The two resident cameras in Ribbon Street.

· The camera at the Ribbon Street entrance into The Gallery.

He added that BCI has also instructed VumaCam to, as a priority, install the following cameras on the fibre network :

· Additional cameras on the Cascades Road entrance from Hendrik Potgieter Road.

· Two cameras on the greenbelt where Lifco has installed the new fence (next to Christian de Wet Road).

· BCI is also opening and closing the pedestrian gate in the fence at 6am and 6pm respectively.

· At the Fredenharry Road intersection with Hendrik Potgieter Road.

· At the entrance/ exit from Trinity School into our suburb.

This will allow BCI to monitor all the entrances/ exits into Little Falls and Strubens Valley.
