WATCH: Trolley pushers fight over refuse

A resident took out her refuse which led to a race between two collectors

Refuse collection day is arguably one of the busiest days for the recyclers commonly known as trolley pushers on the streets.

These men dig through bins weekly, going from one area to another looking for recyclable material which can be collected to put food on the table.

Monday, 23 October, was no different as it was municipal refuse collection day in Albertville, near Roodepoort. A resident took out her refuse which led to a race between two collectors. Both men arrived at the same time. Instead of sharing the items in the bin, they decided to fight over them in full view of the public.

The men were video-taped while they were pushing and swearing at each other. Fortunately, no was hurt during the squabble, as one of the men decided to walk away.
